WorldCloud is an indispensable decentralized infrastructure for the future of computing. It is a digital 3D (simplified) replica of the real world. WorldCloud aims to use incentivized crowdsourcing to collect the massive amount of data required to construct this 3D replica, and build a complete ecosystem for the global AR industry.

In 2018, there will be 1.83 billion AR-enabled smartphone devices worldwide. Apple's AR headset will also be available in 2020 . Market research indicates that the global AR market will reach US $133.78 billion in 2021 and grow at an annual rate of 85.2% We can see that people are very optimistic about AR's potential, with experts expecting AR to replace smartphones and become the next universal computing platform.

We expect that the frequency of data invocation and number of users of AR will soon exceed that of smartphones.

Examples of Applications Enabled by WorldCloud

01. VISUAL SEARCH ENGINE

A search engine of the real world. Look at any building, landmark, lake, mountain range, shop, item, etc., and instantly get information about this object.

02. AUGMENTED SHOPPING

Ubiquitous smart shopping, where you can instantly get detailed information about what you see, such as product descriptions, prices, user reviews, etc.

03. THREE-DIMENSIONAL MAP

A lot more useful and accurate than two-dimensional maps provided by Google and Baidu. It will allow for accurate navigation to any physical location, including indoor locations; this is a necessary prerequisite for perfected self-driving vehicles, and will also allow automated drone navigation to become a reality.

04. AR SOCIAL NETWORKING

Massively-multi-user real-time AR social networking that all users can participate in. When you see a person, you can instantly get public information that he/she willingly shares, such as their socialization preferences and contact information.

05. MMO AR Games

Multi-user AR games that understand the real world; for example, virtual personalities who can understand the structure of the user's home and can properly sit on various pieces of furniture, or interact with the environment in other interesting ways.

blockchain
Why Blockchain
WorldCloud requires a massive amount of data to be useful. Blockchain technology is a perfect solution to creating an incentive system to motivate users worldwide to participate in data collection.

Furthermore, the same incentive system encourages users to provide DARDN nodes, which serve as both storage of AR data as well as provider of cloud computation for computer vision algorithms.
How WorldCloud Works
  • WorldCloud introduces the Distributed AR Data Network (DARDN). Data collectors submit valid AR data to nodes in the DARDN, which provide storage and device localization service.
  • The WorldCloud is governed by a DPOS consensus model, where token holders vote for participation in the Verification Committee, whose members earn tokens for verifying data submitted by collectors.
Who Can Participate in WorldCloud
  • If you have a smartphone, then you can become a WorldCloud data collector! We have spent years perfecting our computer vision algorthims to capture a complete global point cloud using just a smartphone camera.
  • If you have a PC, run a DARDN node! Your PC will use its spare storage, bandwidth and CPU resources to stream data to nearby AR users, as well as help their mobile devices perform computer vision-based localization computation.
  • You can also join the Verificatio Commitee and ensure that data submitted to WorldCloud are accurate and do not have privacy or security violations.
  • Earn valuable WRLD tokens doing any of the above. Hold on to these tokens for the day when WorldCloud is truly omnipresent!
Take Ownership of Your Data
  • Large centralized corporations like Google are also building centralized versions of an AR cloud. However, such a business model will put power in the hands of the large corporations, and allow them to make bilions of dollars of profit off of your data.
  • With WorldCloud, your data is owned by you and nobody else. Any profit generated from the use of that data, if you give this permission, goes entirely to you.
The WRLD Token
  • WRLD Token

Data collectors earn WRLD Tokens when submitting valid data.

  • WRLD Token

Verification Committee members earn WRLD Tokens for verifying data.

  • WRLD Token

DARDN node providers earn WRLD Tokens for providing storage and computation.

  • WRLD Token

AR app developers spend WRLD Tokens for data access.

  • WRLD Token col-md-6

Ecosystem participants use WRLD Tokens in AR apps for payment.

  • WRLD Token

The future global AR industry runs on the WRLD Token.
